Description
Les images vieillissent autrement que ceux qui les font

Aurélien Mole's unique photographic workshop project brings together three partners: the Cneai, the Fournaise museum in Chatou and the Jean Rostand school in Chatou.

In line with a cross-disciplinary approach and complementary practices, Aurélien Mole, artist, art critic, curator and exhibition photographer, presents a collective and participative exhibition.

His project, which involves two groups of young participants (two classes of CM2 and CP-CM2), assumes the media logic of the exhibition, which is conceived from the perspective of the catalog and the photographs it will have generated. Aurélien Mole's work is therefore about the photogenic nature of an exhibition. Artists Xavier Antin, Roxane Borujerdi, Aurélien Froment, Julien Nédélec, Julien Tiberi and Clément Rodzielski have been invited to produce works for the exhibition. Each of them will propose a work in dialogue with a selection of pieces from the Musée Fournaise collection, using practices that include sculpture, installation, collage and archive. The protocol is known to all beforehand: these work-to-work relationships are intended to be photographed by the second participants, which is the aim of the exhibition.

Making students aware of subjectivity, the idea of displacement and the modulations of space is undoubtedly the challenge of this project, in which they can intervene and direct themselves. The action will also involve experimenting with shooting contexts, lighting tests, the value of chance as well as that of skill and reflection. The catalog is, of course, a “participatory” work defined by the students, and is the subject of a public presentation.
