This puzzle piece is inspired by one of the rare bones from which Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins made the sculpture of a Megalosaurus in scale 1850. Anatomically incorrect (the dinosaur is represented as a quadruped whereas it is of a bipedal ancestor of the tyrannosaurus) the sculpture was exhibited among other dinosaurs to the delight of visitors to the Crystal Palace World's Fair.
Reduced to the scale of a 3D puzzle and cut out of bone, this single fragment naturally acts as a kind of catalyst for the imagination.
