The Eugène Flandin series is inspired by a 19th century draftsman sent to Persia to survey ancient works. Objects found on the street in Iran are photographed in the same way as a work of art in an exhibition space.
The images are of objects of various sizes placed by Iranians in public spaces.
They were photographed by Aurélien Mole using the same techniques he usually uses to document works in exhibitions (focal length, distance, height, etc.).
The result is an empowerment of these objects without quality, which are then endowed with sculptural values.
