“Machine” is a publication by Christophe Lemaitre and Aurélien Mole centered around an interview with art restorer Benoit Dagron. The interview explores the expansion of the term “art” to include new objects and the implications of this ever increasing influx of new technologies from a conservation perspective.

The illustrations in this book were created at the Mac/val, based on works from the museum’s collection, between April 17 and 21, 2012, during a workshop for young audiences designed by Christophe Lemaitre and Aurélien Mole at the invitation of the Mac/val, following a proposal by the Cneal.

This is a documentation of the works on display at the Mac/val, created using techniques associated with the 1980s (Polaroid, Telecran, ASCII typed on a typewriter).
