In December, during the Un Air de Famille festival, the L’Image Situated exhibition evolves and hosts an exhibition within the exhibition. This proposal refers to the pioneers of cinema and photography in resonance with the show M like Méliès by Marcial Di Fonzo Bo and Elise Vigier.
Imago Milagro (or still image miracle) offers contemporary artists the opportunity to revisit techniques linked to proto-cinema: from the camera obscura to the magic lantern, from the thaumatrope to the dioramas of Louis Daguerre. Between illusion and magic, these optical devices still feed the artistic imagination today. During the festival and the exhibition, family workshops are offered. On the program: an introduction to different techniques between photography and cinema. How to create movement from still images? What is a phenakistiscope and a pinhole? How to fake an image? Through workshops bringing into play the essential notions of proto-cinema, children are invited to experiment with the principles of cinematographic projection.
