Ewelina Hanska has been the penfriend, the mistress and then the wife of the french writer Honoré de Balzac. For her, he did the famous daguerreotype portrait that shows him in a home shirt. Balzac famous theory about photography is well known : he thought that each picture was taking a layer of apparence that constituted the image of our self like an onion skins.
Lady Hanska, recipient of the image of the writer, is thus the person behind one of those onion skins.
What hides behind an image and how it changes the way we perceive it is the subject of this series of posters.
